The Best Laid Plans...

I'm back! I know, you probably didn't even miss me, but I missed you. My computer died, and I mean DIED, about a week ago and we just got it up and running again. I had to replace the hard drive and use 15 recovery disks just to get it back to original factory settings. Yes, we lost everything. My daughter's thousands of pictures and all of my recipes that I hadn't yet posted here...like my cake recipe...are possibly gone forever. :( I know, I know, I should have saved it all! The funny thing is that whenever someone would say "make sure you back up anything important", I would say "we don't have anything important on our computer". I never really realized HOW important the pictures and recipes were until they were gone.

Anyway...on to a happier subject! Emily and I put three names into a hat for our blogiversary drawing with the intent of drawing two, then we looked at each other and thought "this is silly!" Therefore, I would like to announce ALL THREE of our winners!!! Congratulations to SisterCooks at Sistercooks.blogspot.com , Krista , and Joy at http://becomingleaneatingclean.blogspot.com/ ! I will be contacting you all by email later. Thank you for participating and for helping me to celebrate my first year here. Have a fabulous allergen free day everyone!

  2. Oh noes! That sucks! I lost a whole folder of photo's once (but thankfully found half of them on the husbands computer, I still mourn the one's I lost though).

I've learned the hard way. Everything is backed up on my external hard drive AND on discs! (Because sometimes, like the other day, the external hard drive has a tantrum and deletes an entire folder of installers I desperately need all by itself!)

  3. Oooo nasty :( Must be horrid to loose all those photos! I'm now backing mine up across 3 computers and external storage devices! :D

Advice: Make a small partition to separate your system drive from storage documents (assuming you have space to). That way if windows dies, you just have to recover/reinstall the system and your files are safe (relatively).

  4. Wow, sister, you have had some hard times lately. Now the computer blows up?! Oh, man!

Congrats on a fab party for your daughter and the continued work on the perfect cake.

Hang in there. At least spring is on the way!

  5. Wanted to drop by and see if you had had a chance to try out the crackers yet. Hope they turned out great!

  6. Hi Trisha. Actually my crackers turned out hard as rocks. I'm sure your recipe is awesome though, I am just incapable of making crackers! I've tried and failed many times before. The good news is that our mice LOVE them, and they're good for sharpening their teeth! :)
